Zepa, a famous Japanese content creator, who released videos about comedy and her lifestyle, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 26.
An announcement on her X account, translation read: "Zepa has passed away" on April 5.
The statement noted that the funeral was held in private ceremony alongside the presence of the family members.
Continuing, "We sincerely thank you for the kindness and support extended to the deceased during their lifetime."
The late creator had over 1.4 million followers on X, YouTube, Tik Tok and Instagram.
She also shared her alcoholism journey, posting photos of her excessive alcohol consumption and about her efforts to reduce it.
The last time Zepa appeared to update her social media was on March 31 with a post on X that suggested her alcohol dependency.
As early as March, she posted a series of videos on her TikTok page in response to comments by fans and taking part in a viral dance trend.
After the tragic news of her demise, fans and followers took to social media to pay their tributes.
One wrote, "I still can't believe it, but I sincerely pray for your soul's eternal peace," another added, "We offer our deepest condolences. May you rest in peace."
It is pertinent to note that the cause of death of the young influencer was not revealed.
