Matthew Perry’s stepmother Debbie Perry has issued a statement against one of the defendants in the case regarding his death.
The Friends alum passed away on October 28, 2023, at age 54 due to the acute effects of ketamine as per his autopsy.
Five defendants were charged in connection to the case, since prosecutors deemed that they exploited the actor’s addiction and prioritised profit over safety.
One defendant, Jasveen Sangha, the woman prosecutors have dubbed the ‘Ketamine Queen,’ plead guilty in the case last year, and Debbie has written a victim impact statement, requesting the judge to be harsh.
“The pain you’ve caused to hundreds maybe thousands is irreversible. There is no joy… No light in the window. They won’t be back. You caused this… You who has talent for business enough to make money chose the one way that hurts people,” the stepmom wrote.
“Please give this heartless woman the maximum prison sentence so she won’t be able to hurt other families like ours,” Debbie added about Jasveen.
The ‘Ketamine Queen’ is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on April 8, after she admitted to selling dozens of vials of liquid ketamine to Matthew in October 2023 via multiple transactions.
