Jaden Smith played a career defining role in The Karate Kid alongside Jackie Chan, who was his reel-life marital arts instructor.
Although Will Smith’s son usually faces backlash for bizarre appearances, the 27-year-old won hearts as he turned to social media for the 72-year-old’s milestone birthday.
Sharing a picture with the Rush Hour star, the designer penned down an expressive note for the actor. Jaden expressed: “I Love You,” before giving Jackie a huge credit.
He admitted that the Men in Black actor has “changed [his] life” as he taught him “things [he] will never forget.”
According to the After Earth actor, he reached the heights of fame because of Jackie, noting “[I] could never be who I am today without you.”
Before wishing him a birthday and wish to meet him soon, Jaden crowned him a “legend, icon and a leader.”
The update went viral within few hours of posting and was acknowledged by nearly 380k people. Fans rushed to the comment section, sharing their opinions about the tribute.
One of the Instagram users was shocked, writing: “Never thought of seeing them together again,” while another quoted an iconic dialogue from the movie: “Pick up the coat Jaden.”
