Royal family shared details from King Charles and Prince William's key meeting with veterans, leaving royal fans delighted.

The monarch's office released a new photo of the father-son duo as they pose with Victoria Cross and George Cross award recipients.

Buckingham Palace's spokesperson shared, "The King, The Queen and The Prince of Wales have hosted a special reception at Windsor Castle for holders of the Victoria Cross and George Cross."

"The Victoria Cross is awarded to those serving in British and Commonwealth Forces who have shown tremendous bravery. The George Cross, which can be awarded to anyone, is given to people who show heroism or courage in extreme danger."

Notably, the King has been serving the role of VC & GC Association's patron since 2022.

It is important to note that the monarch and his son seemingly put rest to rumours of abdication with their joint public appearance.

For the unversed, it has been said for the past months that the King might step down from his role due to his health issues amid cancer treatment.

Multiple reports have suggested that the Prince of Wales is preparing for the throne. However, it is evident that William has shown respect and support for his father's monarchy by attending the reception at Windsor Castle.
