It has been announced that the hit flick Ready Or Not will be returning with a sequel, after the original came out in 2019.

The announcement

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directors of the original flick said, “We’re thrilled to be returning to the world of ‘Ready or Not’ with Samara, Brett, Avery and Andrew and so excited to work with this immensely talented cast and the incredible artists across every department joining the ‘Ready or Not’ family.”

Matthew Greenfield, the president of Searchlight Pictures added, “We’re beyond excited to make another film with the phenomenal Radio Silence. With ‘Ready or Not: Here I Come,’ we get to go on another ride with the amazing Samara Weaving, mix in awesome new voices and bring audiences a fresh take that’s every bit as twisted and fun as the first one. This is for those who’ve been waiting, and those who didn’t see it coming.”

The Cast and Crew

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood have been announced to be joining the film, alongside the returning Samara Weaving, as well as Kathryn Newton.

Other cast members include Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand and David Cronenberg.

Returning for the script are writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, along with producers Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak.

Production designer, Andrew Stearn, director of photography, Brett Jutkiewicz, costume designer, Avery Plewes and makeup head of department, Colin Penman will also be making a return.

New crew members include editor, Jay Prychidny, hair department head, Ryan Reed and sound mixer, Thomas Hayek.

The Original

“After the wedding ceremony of a young woman, her new in-laws force her to participate in a seemingly innocent game. Things soon turn bloody and sinister, revealing the sick rituals of the family,” reads the synopsis of the flick, which starred Weaving, Adam Brody, Mark O'Brien, Elyse Levesque, Nicky Guadagni, Henry Czerny and Andie MacDowell.

Although it only had a budget of $6 million, it went on to earn $28 million domestically, making it the production company’s most successful project to date.
