Fans of A Minecraft Movie already have huge reasons to look forward to its sequel.
The fantasy adventure movie is based on the popular video game Minecraft and has proved to be a major success after its release last weekend.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, A Minecraft Movie has already broken into the list of top 5 highest-grossing films of 2025.
It is safe to say that before the end of its theatrical run, the movie will break several records, especially for a film based on a video game.
The success of the Jared Hess-directed movie means there are already talks of a potential sequel.
Naturally, Hess has also been asked the same questions wherever he goes, leading to the director expressing his excitement for a sequel.
“It would be so much fun. We had so much fun making this movie, and it’s such an expansive world in the game, and there were so many things that we didn’t tap into that we wanted to,” Hess shared with Deadline.
“I would have a blast doing the sequel, and it seems like there’s already talk about it happening, so I’m super excited,” the 45-year-old continued. “It’ll be so much fun to go back into the world. The fans are just having such a good time. We teased it in the end credits, and the fans seem to be going wild for it.”
Even though A Minecraft Movie sequel has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film’s two post-credit scenes definitely left the fans buzzing.
In one of the scenes, a character named Alex was teased, which Hess described as a “massively critical character in Minecraft” and revealed that she would play a crucial role in the much-anticipated sequel.
