Prince Harry’s visa documents were finally been released to the public on Tuesday, following growing calls for his deportation from the US.
The heavily redacted documents, made available today, come after Judge Carl Nichols ruled that portions of Harry’s immigration records should be disclosed.
According to The US Sun, the documents stated: "Plaintiffs allege that the records should be disclosed as public confidence in the government would suffer or to establish whether the Duke was granted preferential treatment. This speculation by Plaintiffs does not point to any evidence of government misconduct."
The records further emphasized that the Duke of Sussex was granted immigration benefits through a regulatory process that complied with the Immigration and Nationality Act and applicable rules.
The documents were made public following repeated demands from The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, which had questioned the legitimacy of Harry’s US visa approval.
The controversy began after Prince Harry admitted to past drug use in his 2023 memoir, Spare, where he revealed experimenting with cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms.
Under US immigration laws, past drug use can be grounds for a visa denial, leading to speculation over whether Harry received special treatment.
