Dolly Parton, known for her country music and unique vocals, offered an ever-lasting gift to her late husband Carl Dean on Thursday, 6 March.

The 79-year-old sent a final message to her spouse in a sweet yet heart-breaking song titled If You Hadn’t Been There, where she gives a special credit of her successful journey to her husband.

Dolly expressed her feelings via lyrics of new track, which she released three days after her long-life partner of nearly 60 years passed away.

The three minute-long ballad begins with a mellow music before the mourning songstress hums the beautiful lines, “If you hadn’t been there, where would I be? Without your trust, Love and belief.”

The 11-time Grammy winner turned to Instagram to share the cover of the newly released single which featured a heartfelt throwback picture from the golden days of the couple getting cosy.

'The Queen of Nashville' wrote a short caption that enveloped her feelings about her romantic tale which began when she “was 18 and he was 23, and like all great love stories, they never end. They live in memory and in song.”

“I dedicate this to him,” the singer added.

The lyrics resonate the amount of love and support Carl offered to his wife throughout her life, while avoiding public attention.

Why did Carl Dean stay away from spotlight?

Dolly Parton’s husband Carl Dean, who passed away at the age of 82, majorly stayed away from spotlight after figuring out Hollywood glitz and glam is not for him. The Jolene singer revealed in 2020 that her partner is “like a quiet, reserved person.”
