Ozzy Osbourne, who was the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath, left fans sobbing after passing away at the age 76.

As the rocker admitted he never feared “dying,” his sudden demise seemingly united heavy metal music fans as they achieved a major milestone.

The music catalogue of Ozzy as a solo artist and Black Sabbath saw a sudden surge in streams on Spotify following the death of the musician.

After the news of the sad passing was confirmed, the Paranoid hitmaker garnered 6 million streamers on the platform.

On the other hand, the band saw a spike of 24.6 million listeners which was initially 19.8 million.

Since Tuesday, the track Crazy Train earned 8 million listeners and No More Tears saw an increase of 7 million plays. While Mama, I’m coming Home achieved a 245 million streams.

The singer passed away weeks after appearing at his farewell show in Birmingham. Ozzy noticeably remained seated during the entire concert due to mobility issues.

How did Ozzy Osbourne die?

Although the cause of his death was not announced publicly, the Dreamer hitmaker previously shared his struggle with Parkinson’s disease.

The music industry was devastated at the loss as notable names paid tribute to the artist including Coldplay's Chris Marin, Johnny Depp, Sir Elton John, Justin Bieber, Black Sabbath members, Yungblud and many more.
