Paul McCartney and Elton John left fans in awe with their guest appearance in the 1984 sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues trailer.

The mockumentary will be released after 41 years, with the main cast reprising their roles and Rob Reiner directing the story.

For the unversed, Spinal Tap, a fictional British rock band, reunites after 15 years for one final show.

The trailer shows Paul discussing the lyrical value of the act’s old single Pink Torpedo with director Rob Reiner.

Later in the video, Elton stuns fans with his presence on stage, performing the anthem Stonehenge, alongside the band.

Fans are overly excited about Reiner’s unique comedic take on the lives of band members after four decades. Taking to social media, one fan wrote, “When I saw Elton John, I knew this was gold.”

Another commented, “I was absolutely helpless with laughter.”

Directed by Rob Reiner in 1984, the film follows Marty DiBergi, a diehard fan of Spinal Tap, making a documentary on the group’s comeback American tour in the form of interviews.

Starring Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, and Rob Reiner, the rock documentary explores Reiner’s directorial debut as he follows his favourite band on their origins and concerts.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues will be released on September 12, 2025.
