Mariah Carey recently released a new single Sugar Sweet from her 16th studio album, Here For It All, featuring Kehlani and Shenseea.
It’s the first time either artist has shared a collaboration with Carey; Kehlani dabbles in R&B/Soul while Shenseea plays pop and dancehall music.
In conversation with Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden at the Apple Music Studios, the 56-year-old singer gushed about her new track, “it’s very summery. I like the beat as well.”
She further revealed the new album will contain 12 songs, including “some Mariah ballads.”
Sugar Sweet is the second tune after Type Dangerous, which Carey put out in June when she announced her album via Instagram.
Netizens couldn’t contain their excitement and praised the Emotions singer on her new single, “her tone in this song is quite clear and effortless-sounding.”
Another fan wrote, “The beat is fireeeee.”
The Songbird Supreme has been working on a new album for years, as she confirmed to Variety in 2024, “I’ve written some new songs. You know, I’m excited about it.”
Here For It All comes seven years after Carey’s last album, Caution, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and was released via Epic Records.
Earlier in June 2025, the Grammy winner signed a multi-album deal with Gamma under music executive Larry Jackson.
Her producer, L. A Reid stated that having Mariah Carey sign with an “independent self-contained company” is a “game changer for both her and Gamma.”
Here For It All is set to be released on September 26, 2025.
