GTA 6 predicted to have $100 price tag
Gaming analyst predicts GTA 6 will cost at least $100
Rockstar Games dropped the first and, up till now, the only trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 on December 5, 2023.
The trailer revealed that GTA 6 will be coming out at some point in 2025 but not many updates have been released by its developers since then.
The radio silence has left fans and gaming analysts alike speculating about the release date of the much-anticipated video game as well as how much it will cost when it is finally released.
One analyst believes that the sixth instalment in the GTA franchise will be sold at an “unheard of price point.”
The managing director of equity research at Wedbush Securities, Michael Pachter, predicts that Rockstar could sell the game at a price tag higher than usual market prices.
In a research note that was highlighted by Video Game Chronicle, Pachter speculated that Rockstar’s “management can offer consumers an incentive to pay $100 or more per unit by rewarding them with a large amount of in-game currency to be spent in GTA Online.”
It remains to be seen whether Pachter’s prediction will become true as many other claims have been made before about GTA 6’s pricing. However, it is also widely speculated that the upcoming game could cause a price shift in the video game market.
