‘The Boys’ reveals iconic ‘Supernatural’ reunion for Season 5
'The Boys' will be giving fans the reunion of Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Jensen Ackles
The Boys fans were surprised on February 26 by an exciting announcement from Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Jensen Ackles.
“Season 5 just got a bit more supernatural,” announced a video shared to the Instagram pages for The Boys and Prime Video.
"Hey, Jared," says 46 year old Ackles at the start, "We got work to do...again."
Padalecki and Ackles played brothers Sam and Dean Winchester on Supernatural for 15 seasons, while Collins joined as Castiel in season 4. The actor who played their father, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, appeared in season 4 of The Boys.
After the premiere of the 4th season, it was announced by creator Eric Kripke that season 5 would be the final from the series. "Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax.”
In a previous interview, he stated that The Boys doesn’t count as just another superhero show, “The Boys and their spinoffs, none of them are really superhero shows. They have the suits and powers, but The Boys is a show about celebrity politics and late-stage capitalism."
Are Jared and Misha joining The Boys?
Yes, the stars will be reuniting on the set of The Boys as guest stars on the series, joining their long term co-star Jensen Ackles.
