Sir Rod Stewart, a singer and songwriter, has made his first announcement since it was revealed that his son, Sean is in rehab.
It was reported by MailOnline that an intervention had been staged to make the check in happen, “Sean is in rehab for pill addiction. He's had a long history of drug addiction, and he decided to get help when he was falling off the deep end again.”
Another insider claimed, “There was a family intervention because they were worried. They are all able to see when Sean is sober and when he is not,"
Stewart in particular is reportedly proud of the decision, “In the end, Sean voluntarily checked in to save himself. Rod is proud of him for getting help. He is expected to do a 90 day stay, which is the norm.”
Taking to his Instagram, he announced that he would be performing at Canada’s second biggest festival, Festival d'ete de Quebec, “Quebec City, I am playing @festivaleteqc passes on sale now.”
Although he did not speak up about the rehab news, his wife, Penny Lancaster reposted a post saying, “If you believe it will work out, you’ll see opportunities. If you believe it won’t you’ll see obstacles. Your mindset is everything.”
Rod Stewart has eight children from five different mothers, and his spouses, previous and current include, Penny Lancaster (present), Rachel Hunter (1990–2006), Alana Stewart (1979–1984).
