Prince Harry and Prince William’s longstanding rift has been one of the biggest royal controversies in recent years, but according to a former royal staffer, a reunion may be on the horizon.

Grant Harrold, a former butler at the Palace, appeared in a special episode of 60 Minutes Australia, where he shared his belief that the strained relationship between the royal brothers won’t remain fractured forever.

Harrold expressed confidence that Prince William still values his brother’s presence, even if Harry doesn’t play an active role in royal life.

"I have no doubt that William would want his brother, not as much to play a part in it, but certainly to be there," Harrold explained.

However, when discussing Harry’s willingness to reconnect, Harrold acknowledged that the Duke of Sussex appears content with his new independent life in California.

"It appears to be that he's quite happy with his new life and his way of doing things, which you couldn't get further away from the Royal Family if you tried with what he's doing."

Despite Harry’s distance from royal duties, Harrold still believes he will support Prince William, just as he did for their father, King Charles III.

"But saying that, I do think he will be there to support his brother, as he has been for his father," he added.

Prince Harry previously demonstrated this when he traveled to the UK in May 2023 for King Charles’s coronation, attending the historic event despite leaving Meghan Markle and their children behind in California.

While there are no official signs of reconciliation yet, Harrold’s insights suggest that a future royal reunion may still be possible.

Why did Prince Harry leave the UK?

In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals and relocated to California, citing media scrutiny and desire for independence.
