As hopes for a royal reconciliation continue to swirl, a royal expert has weighed in on what Meghan Markle really thinks about Prince Harry potentially mending fences with his father, King Charles.
After advisers for Harry and Charles were spotted meeting in London earlier this week, speculation has grown that a reunion between father and son could be on the horizon. However, questions linger about Meghan’s influence.
Despite these tensions, BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes Meghan would actually support efforts to heal the rift.
"It's important to remember that the King and Meghan had a warm and affectionate relationship at the start," Bond told The Mirror.
Harry himself wrote fondly of those early days, describing Charles as jovial and animated when spending time with Meghan, even bonding over shared interests like music.
"My belief is that Meghan loves Harry and wants him to be happy."
But while a father-son reconciliation seems possible, Prince William remains notably absent from any olive branches being extended. Sources suggest that William is "profoundly hurt" by Harry’s actions and isn’t planning to reach out anytime soon.
"Never say never," Bond explained, "but reconciliation between William and Harry still seems a very distant prospect."
