Why Princess Anne is reportedly frustrated with Prince William

Princess Anne, renowned for being the hardest-working royal, is reportedly irritated with her nephew, Prince William, and it all comes down to royal duties.

As the Princess Royal prepares to turn 75 next month, she shows no signs of slowing down. 

Despite opting out of formal birthday celebrations this year, she continues to maintain a packed schedule, with a steady stream of engagements at home and abroad.

But according to a report in The Sunday Times, there’s one area where Anne would like William to step up: investitures, the ceremonies where honours and awards are formally presented on behalf of the Crown.

Sources say that although Anne is "fond" of William and intends to support him when he becomes King, she is frustrated that she carries much of the load for these “bread-and-butter” duties.

Currently, only King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Anne conduct investitures, many of which take place at Windsor Castle, conveniently close to William and Kate’s home at Adelaide Cottage.

A source close to Anne told the paper: "She’s still doing most of the investitures [at Windsor] even though William lives there. It annoys her."
