Blake Lively subpoenas Justin Baldoni’s phone records as courtroom drama escalates

Blake Lively’s legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni is escalating as her legal team moves to subpoena his phone records.

The Gossip Girl star, along with her husband Ryan Reynolds’ legal team, is seeking detailed communication records from Baldoni as part of their ongoing case. Lively has accused Baldoni of orchestrating a smear campaign against her, and her legal team believes phone records could provide key evidence.

Lively’s attorneys, Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, issued a statement to Fox News, emphasizing the importance of uncovering the truth: “Ms. Lively has initiated discovery that will expose the people, tactics, and methods that have worked to ‘destroy’ and ‘bury’ her reputation and family over the past year.”

The legal team further added that these records would help reveal key players in the alleged smear campaign: “Phone records belonging to all of the individual defendants will expose the full web of individuals who were involved in the smear campaign against Ms. Lively.”

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, dismissed the subpoena as an overreach, calling it an unnecessary attempt to obtain excessive information.

“They are asking for every single call, text, data log, and even real-time location information for the past 2.5 years, regardless of the sender, recipient, or subject matter,” Freedman told Fox News.

He further claimed that the move was a "fishing expedition" with no substantial basis: “This massive fishing expedition demonstrates that they are desperately seeking any factual basis for their provably false claims. They will find none.”

As the courtroom drama unfolds, Lively’s legal team is expected to push forward with discovery, while Baldoni’s team may attempt to challenge the subpoena. The case continues to draw attention, given its high-profile nature and the involvement of major Hollywood figures.
