Ever since The Batman 2 kicked off production under the direction of Matt Reeves, multiple rumours have swirled about which DC villain might appear in the movie, but DC Studios co-head James Gunn has finally addressed the chatter.
As Reeves continues expanding Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight storyline with a sequel, social media has been buzzing with speculation that Hush will feature in The Batman 2.
However, as of now, no new cast members have officially been reported for the upcoming instalment, as details about the highly anticipated sequel remain tightly under wraps.
Still, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about who Batman’s next enemy could be.
Gunn, who frequently uses social media to debunk false claims about the DC Universe, took to Threads to respond to a fan’s question about the rumoured villain.
A fan asked on Gunn’s Threads account, “What about Hush in The Batman Part II?”
In response, the Superman director wrote, “Again, everything you’ve heard is a total guess or made up.”
His statement confirms that any rumours surrounding villains in The Batman 2, or any other DC Studios project, are baseless unless confirmed directly by Gunn, studio co-head Peter Safran, or another official source.
Reeves, who has completed the script for the film, has never indicated that Hush will appear in The Batman 2.
The sequel, co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, is currently slated for release on October 1, 2027.
