Who will play iconic James Bond character: Tom Holland responds to rumours

Tom Holland recently declined to comment on the speculations of playing James Bond.

In a conversation with Gordon Ramsey on YouTube, the 29-year-old actor said, “Listen, there’s speculation at the moment. We’ll keep it to a minimum for now. We’ll get there one day."

However, the famous chef pressed on the topic, “First of all, you’d love that opportunity, right?”

Holland admitted that he already considers himself the “luckiest man alive” and that portraying James Bond is every British actor’s dream, calling the role “a pinnacle in our industry.”

The Spider-Man lead is currently among many actors considered to play the 007 spy in Dennis Villeneuve's imagining.

Notably, on August 2, Steven Knight was announced as the writer to pen the new James Bond film. He has also scripted the BBC hit TV show, Peaky Blinders.

Aside from Holland, Taron Egerton became embroiled in the ongoing rumour and eventually dismissed it. He called himself a “messy” actor.

The casting frenzy comes after the sudden exit of Daniel Craig from the franchise. He explained that the role exhausted him physically and emotionally, and he wanted to explore other projects.

As of now, Villeneuve is keeping the cast and plot details under wraps, given the anticipation surrounding the movie. Fans speculate that the cast will be revealed by the end of 2025.

For the unversed, Tom Holland is currently filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow, which is scheduled to release in summer 2026.
