Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ costume reveal

Sony Pictures has revealed Tom Holland in a brand-new Spidey costume for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and some fans are not happy with it.

On Friday, Aug 1, the production group put out a teaser for the upcoming movie’s suit on National Spider-Man Day; however, the full first look dropped on Saturday with a longer video.

The video starts with Holland emerging from the shadows, hopping and running towards the camera in his new costume, which more closely resembles the comic-book versions than the previous ones.

“We ready?” Holland asks behind the camera, before looking at the lens, flashing a small smile, and walking away.

While some fans are eager to see Holland return to the screen, others are questioning the costume.

“Why isn’t the blue part shiny?” @dracyrs4 wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Meanwhile, another user wrote, “The suit from the ending of No Way Home looked so much better.”

“Love the detailing, but something is a little off,” one user commented.

Another user added James Gunn’s Superman picture, captioning it, “This is how you do a suit reveal — unlike whatever James was trying to do with this.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the next entry in the MCU and is set to hit theatres on 31 July 2026.
