Jimmy Kimmel crushes expectations with selfless support to Stephen Colbert

Jimmy Kimmel continues to show unwavering support for fellow late night host Stephen Colbert, as the latter navigates the devastating news of his show’s cancellation.

A few months prior, the production company Paramount along with CBS had announced that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was being cancelled after 10 seasons.

Soon after, other hosts with a similar premise voiced their support for Colbert, with one of them being Kimmel, who has also encouraged audiences to vote for him for the Emmys.

The prestigious award has a category called 'Outstanding Talk Series', which the 57-year-old is nominated for, but he put up a billboard which reads "I'm voting Stephen."

This act of solidarity comes as no surprise, since the Jimmy Kimmel Live! executive producer and presentative had reacted to the annulment news by writing on his social media, “Love you Stephen, F*** you and all your Sheldons CBS."

Colbert’s show ending is linked to politics, with the United Stated President Donald Trump being exposed by the 61-year-old, which later lead the politician to remark that Kimmel’s cancellation was next in line.

The executive responsible for giving the go ahead to Stephen Colbert’s show have noted that this was “purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”
