Anne Hathaway has given fans a fresh update on The Princess Diaries 3 after the sequel reached a major creative milestone.
In an interview on SiriusXM's Radio Andy, the actress disclosed that the film's initial script was set aside as work continued on a new storyline.
"I'm busy making baby number three, and that has sort of taken the place of knowing when exactly I can make Princess Diaries 3," she said.
She went on to explain, "I can say I think we had a story breakthrough. I think we are moving in the right direction. The script that we were working on...we kind of had to start over with this new direction, which is not the update I think anybody wants, but we all feel really good that this is gonna be the one."
However, earlier in chat with Entertainment Weekly, she stated, "One hundred percent, we’re constantly working on it."
It is pertinent to mention that The Princess Diaries debuted in 2001, followed by The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement in 2004.
Meanwhile, a third installment is currently in development, with Adele Lim attached to direct the sequel.
