Funko drops 'The Odyssey' Pop! figure as fans rush to preorder
Matt Damon's warrior from The Odyssey has officially joined the Funko Pop! lineup
The Odyssey fans have another reason to celebrate as Funko has officially revealed a new Pop! figure inspired by Matt Damon's portrayal of Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's blockbuster.
The collectable arrives as The Odyssey continues its impressive run at the global box office cementing its place as one of the year's biggest films.
Funko shared a first look at the figure on Instagram where excited fans quickly filled the comments section with praise and preorder announcements.
"I NEED THIS," one fan wrote while another simply commented, "Preordered."
Others urged the company to expand the collection with more characters from the film.
"We need Agamemnon with the black armour, that'd be so cool!" one fan suggested while another called for additional figures based on the movie's cast.
According to Variety The Odyssey earned $124.5 million at the U.S. box office during its opening weekend marking Christopher Nolan's biggest debut since The Dark Knight Rises and the third-largest opening of the year.
Meanwhile Forbes reported that the new Odysseus Funko Pop! stands approximately five inches tall.
The figure is slightly larger than a standard Pop! due to the oversized feather attached to the warrior's helmet making it a standout addition for collectors.
With The Odyssey continuing to attract audiences worldwide fans are already hoping Funko will expand the lineup with more characters from Nolan's epic adaptation.
