'The Rock' Dwayne Johnson is back in action.

After leaving the popular franchise in 2021 over disagreements with star Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has revealed on Twitter that he will return as Luke Hobbs in an untitled Fast & Furious movie.

Johnson, who was sporting a lei, said in a video message from Hawaii that "Hobbs is back in the Fast and Furious franchise."

“The next Fast & Furious film you’ll see the legendary lawman in will be the HOBBS movie that will serve as a fresh, new chapter & set up for FASTX: Part II,” he added.

The Fast & Furious franchise is the fifth-highest-grossing franchise of all time with over $7 billion in worldwide movie office receipts.

Fast X, the most recent film featuring Jason Momoa and Vin Diesel, had its world premiere last month and had the second biggest opening weekend of the year, barely falling short of another Universal production, The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Over $500 million has been made in international box offices.

Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel are FRIENDS again!

Johnson claimed that Diesel and he had reconciled.

“Last summer Vin and I put all the past behind us. We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve - and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love,” he said in his post.

The Moana actor continued by saying that he approaches his job with a "audience first mentality" and that he sends his love to the entire Fast family.

Chris Morgan, a seasoned writer for the franchise, will return to handle the future project's script and develop Johnson's portrayal of the fearless diplomatic security service agent he has previously portrayed in movies.
