Former U.S. President Barack Obama and rock music legend Bruce Springsteen have teamed up to host a new Spotify podcast on Monday.
The iconic duo will discuss race, masculinity, fatherhood, marriage and their personal and professional journeys.
The podcast, Renegades: Born in the USA, is produced in partnership between Spotify and Barack and Michelle Obama's production company, Higher Ground. The eight-episode podcast is available exclusively through Spotify Technology SA’s music streaming service.
The first two introduction episodes of the latest podcast were released on Monday. In which, Obama, 59, discussed his family and friends had been discussing divisions in the United States and how “we find our way back to a more unifying American story.” One of his friends, Obama said, “just happened to be Mr. Bruce Springsteen.”
In the video, the former president shared on his Twitter, he said, “What we discovered during these conversations was that we still share a fundamental belief in the American idea. Not as an act of nostalgia, but as a compass for the hard work that lies before us.” The video has got over 1 million views in less than a day.
The first season will contain eight episodes total, with six subsequent episodes released weekly.
