Music fans are in for a shock as rap royalty Jay-Z and Eminem have been credited on the same track for the first time since 2001’s Renegade, sparking instant hype across hip-hop circles.

Details of a new collaborative collection from Rakim, Kurupt and Masta Killa, set for release on August 28, have been unveiled by executive producer Matthew “M80” Markoff.

He shared a handwritten tracklist teaser on Instagram featuring the pair’s names attached to an interlude.

He hyped the project as AOTY 2026, although clarification later confirmed that Jay-Z and Eminem do not deliver verses, instead appearing on an interlude paying tribute to Rakim’s influence.

He told Rolling Stone, “Em and Jay do not have verses on the interlude. The entire album… was recorded in the past two years.”

The record is stacked with heavyweight features, including Snoop Dogg, KRS-One, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Buckshot and Daz Dillinger.

Meanwhile Empire State Of Mind rapper is gearing up for two major shows in Paris on September 10 and Los Angeles on October 23.

As for the Mockingbird hitmaker, last summer his previously unreleased track Everybody’s Looking At Me was made available to stream for the first time, as part of the STANS: THE OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK for the Eminem-produced documentary STANS, with production from Dr. Dre.

The unearthed gem, long speculated as a shelved cut from The Eminem Show era that opens with a 2002 Funkmaster Flex freestyle.

It's worth noting that, Eminem’s last studio album was 2024’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace).
