Andrew Scott has gushed over co-star Brendan Fraser, calling him “the sweetest person” as the pair team up in upcoming World War Two film Pressure.

The 49-year-old actor, best known for his gripping performances on stage and screen, couldn’t hide his admiration for the Hollywood favourite, saying Fraser has that rare quality where people instantly warm to him.

“Oh, he’s the sweetest person,” Andrew told People

“I think when people see Brendan Fraser, we just like him. Everybody just loves him. We see him and think, ‘Oh, I trust him.’”

The duo star alongside Kerry Condon, Chris Messina and Damian Lewis in the tense wartime drama.

The Mummy star takes on the role of Dwight D. Eisenhower, while Scott plays Stagg, a British Met Office meteorologist attached to the Royal Air Force.

Despite their characters being on very different sides of the military machine, Andrew says they share a similar moral core.

“In the movie they’re very different men,” he explained, “but they’re both men of extreme integrity.”

The Fleabag star also admitted the project was an easy “yes” thanks to its strong script and the chance to work with Fraser.

“You don’t really get a great film without a great script,” he said.

“I’ve been doing lots of different things, but that’s kind of the game for me.”

Meanwhile, Fraser has also been reflecting on his renewed wave of fan love following his comeback to Hollywood.

The Whale star hinted he’s open to returning to the franchise that made him a global icon, but kept details firmly under wraps.

“Anything’s possible at this point,” he said, adding that while nothing is confirmed, the fan demand is undeniable.

He recently recalled being overwhelmed by support at a fan convention in Minnesota, joking that the experience left him feeling like a “rockstar” after meeting thousands of admirers.
