Dwayne Johnson recently shared exciting news with his Japanese fans on social media.

The Rock turned to Instagram on May 17 and posted behind-the-scene photos from his new movie, The Smashing Machine.

Interestingly, Dwayne revealed that the movie, which garnered critical acclaim across the globe, has been released in theatres in Japan this weekend.

“Very cool and wild news but true — THE SMASHING MACHINE has just been released in theaters in JAPAN,” began the 54-year-old in the caption.

The wrestler-turned-actor explained how the movie had changed his life in many ways.

“Every country around the world has their own distribution rights and Japan’s theatrical window was always scheduled for May 2026,” said the Red Notice actor.

Dwayne mentioned that he’s “thrilled” Japanese fans “can finally see, our movie, Smashing Machine, changed my life in many ways”.

“And the time I spent in Japan filming our movie, instilled a deeper appreciation and curiosity for Japanese culture, that I ultimately began to embody and apply to my own lifestyle,” pointed out the Black Adam actor.

In the end, Dwayne added, “Japan – enjoy The Smashing Machine and I’ll see you THIS JULY when I return to your island nation.”

Meanwhile, the Jungle Cruise actor fans expressed their excitement in the comment section.

One wrote, “Super excited.”

Another user remarked, “Looking forward to it.”
