Eurovision song contest has finally wrapped up with the announcement of this year’s winner despite ongoing controversy.
Out of 25 countries, Bulgaria turned out to be victorious as popstar Dara took the stage by storm with her performance of Bangaranga.
After she earned the most votes from both public and the jury, the musician was declared the winner of the international programme ahead of Israel and Romania.
However, many viewers continued to boycott the show due to one of the participants involvement and their political situation that intensified in the recent years.
It is to be noted that this has become the country’s first ever victory at the Eurovision, making history with the performance.
Dara is already popular in her home country as a pop star with songs garnering over 80 million streams online.
Moreover, the musician also serves as the coach on a singing contest of the country which is equivalent to the popular show The Voice.
On the other hand, the UK disappointed the public and the judges with its “disastrous” results, ranking last after their performance by Look Mama No Computer.
Their set is now facing trolls with many calling it a “crime against humanity,” failing to win hearts.
