James Franco recently got the opportunity to join the cast of John Rambo, a prequel to the popular action franchise.

The American actor-moviemaker will play a villain role in the upcoming movie, joining Noah Centineo as Rambo and David Harbour as Major Trautman, as per Variety.

The news of James joining the cast came after the actor was seen out and about around this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Interestingly, the Spider-Man actor reportedly spotted with longtime girlfriends Izabel Pakzad at the opening ceremony for Club Kid.

James, who will be his first major studio movie in more than eight years, spoke to Deadline and shared that he had just wrapped a role in an unnamed big studio movie especially after sexual misconduct scandal.

The actor mentioned that the movie “won’t be ready for this summer, but my guess is it will be end of this year or spring-summer 2027”.

However, James opened up that he wanted to focus on living a positive life after MeToo allegations.

Meanwhile, the forthcoming movie is directed by Jalmari Helander and other star cast included Yao, Jason Tobin, Quincy Isaiah, Jefferson White and Tayme Thapthimthong.
