Saturday Night Live is bringing back the character of Tucker Carlson on the show to give his thoughts on the Met Gala and the Michael Jackson biopic Michael.
The real life commentator was played on the sketch comedy show by cast member Jeremy Culhane, and he reacted to some of the looks from the biggest night for fashion with his conservative viewpoint.
Culhane playing Carlson said of Madonna’s look, “She named herself after the Virgin Mary. And you want to know my favorite thing about the mother of Jesus Christ? The big pirate ship on her head. And I have to be attracted to this?”
He also critiqued Heidi Klum, who transformed herself into her own version of the Veiled Vestal saying “Oh yeah, the left has finally gotten what they’ve wanted. They put the Statue of Liberty in a burqa, What’s next? Is the Chrysler Building going to become the antichrist-ler Building?”
The cast member also commented on Jaafar Jackson and sided with those that were upset with Michael, adding, “The movie ends in 1988, so obviously they avoided something serious that needs to be acknowledged. The part of Michael Jackson’s life no one wants to talk about anymore.”
Notably, the film has been critiqued by many for glossing over the controversial and contentious parts of the iconic singer’s life.
