Pop princess Olivia Rodrigo has had a cheeky dig at her former co-star, but it seems there’s no bad blood, as YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has fired back with nothing but love.
The 23-year-old chart-topper left audiences in stitches during her monologue on Saturday Night Live, where she poked fun at Jake’s eyebrow-raising boxing career.
Recalling their days on Disney’s Bizaardvark, Olivia quipped that while she dreamed of making heartfelt music, Jake had his sights set on “beating up old guys on Netflix”, a playful jab at his headline-grabbing fights.
But the 29-year-old influencer wasn’t rattled.
Taking to social media, he responded with a surprisingly warm message, reminding fans of their shared rise to fame.
“We had the vision,” he wrote, proudly noting that both he and Olivia have gone on to sell out massive venues in their own worlds.
The deja vu hitmaker, who skyrocketed to global fame during the COVID-19 pandemic, has previously opened up about how lockdown shielded her from the chaos of overnight stardom.
The drivers license singer revealed that being surrounded by loved ones helped her stay grounded while her debut album SOUR dominated charts worldwide.
In fact, she believes the quiet of isolation gave her the confidence to write honestly, something that might have been lost in the whirlwind of press tours and performances.
