Saturday Night Live’s cold open is poking fun at the confusing moment that went viral not too long ago, involving Pete Hegseth.
The United States Secretary of War had quoted a fake Bible verse from the film Pulp Fiction during a prayer service in mid-April.
In this week’s episode, Colin Jost’s 45-year-old attended a press conference when a journalist asked him if he knew it was fake.
The faux Hegseth replied, “Yeah. Also, I do believe that someday it will be, in Bible 2, Electric Bibleloo,” referring to the Sam Firstenberg movie Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.
“Now I’m not gonna apologise because I wear my religion on my sleeve, literally. I have a tattoo on my forearm of Jesus choking out Jimmy Kimmel,” Jost added as the Trump administration official.
Later on in the episode, he introduced Aziz Ansari’s FBI director Kash Patel, who the show also skewered for his actions.
The comedian joked that the official was the first Indian person to suck at his job, refuting the stereotype that they are smart, hardworking and incredibly intelligent.
Notably, Ashley Padilla’s Karoline Leavitt had started off the skit by announcing that she would be taking maternity leave since she is expecting her second baby.
