Luke Hemsworth discusses the stigma of being a Hemsworth in Hollywood.
Luke is eldest brother, followed by Chris, with Liam as the youngest.
Dismantling the assumptions people have about the Hemsworth name, he told The Guardian, “In my experience, it's actually been a lot more difficult, and it comes with a stigma.”
Being the sibling of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Thor and a Hunger Games star, “There is kind of baggage that's left over… Most of it is, ‘Oh, you're really short!’”
He said to differentiate from his famous brothers while pursuing on-screen work, he has to be “very specific about who he is” and not get mistaken or confused by someone recognising him as one of his brothers.
At the Beast premiere, his new mixed martial arts movie, filmmaker Rob Carlton introduced him as such, the Westworld star added.
“So I have to be very aware of my craft, making sure I've really prepared. That sounds like a no-brainer, but I've had to really work, really dive deep into that part of my game,” continued Luke. “But I love it. I've had all these beautiful character roles.”
Despite the issues he has to face in the industry, Luke revealed that the three of them have “talked about it a lot,” doing a project together.
Where Chris, needs to get “booked in about two years in advance,” he quipped, as the Thor star is “incredibly in demand.”
The Beast is now running in theatres.
