Dwayne Johnson recently shared his reflections on his Polynesian tattoos, inked on his body.
The American-Canadian actor, who is known by his ring name The Rock, took to Instagram on April 26 and posted a picture of himself covered in tattoos.
Captioning the post, the Smashing Machine actor wrote, “The art that is forever.”
“Every symbol, every marking, tells a very personal story that’s a reflection of my gratitude for my ancestors and my life’s past, my inspired hope for life’s future, and the most important part of my life’s story - to live fully present, in the now,” explained the 53-year-old.
Red Notice actor revealed that his tattoo artist and he “talked for hours, we definitely drank our kava, we definitely prayed and then we went to work”.
Interestingly, Dwayne pointed out that it took three total sessions and 60+ hours for all the tattoos.
“My tatau was complete,” remarked the wrestler turned actor.
Dwayne also credited to the exceptionally talented Mr. Frédéric “Po’oino” Yrondi, “whose artistry is reflected in tattoos that, two decades on, continue to embody our culture, heritage, and stories that have helped to shaped me”.
“I’ll proudly carry forever,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dwayne’s fans showered love in the comment section.
