Australian actor Chris Hemsworth is returning to Marvel universe as Thor in the upcoming edition of the franchise Avengers: Doomsday.

The actor has been open about his mental health struggles, particularly after his father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

The 42-year-old admitted he has struggled with anxiety and stress on set for films and shows.

The Extraction star spoke about his struggle in an interview on MTV UK, saying “I had struggle with anxiety on sets and film sets and TV sets early in my career really intensely.”

“And for a good kind of a year and a half it was the last thing I thought about before going to bed, the first thing I thought of when I woke up just like a shot of adrenaline, heart going, stomach everything for a year and a half.”

Chris recently said he has sorted his priorities and wants to spend more time with family hence he has started to filter out projects and is picky about what he wants to work on.

The actor’s next project is Crime 101 alongside Monica Barbaro and Mark Ruffalo which set to release in February 2026 and later he will star as Thor in Avengers: Doomsday which will release on December 18, 2026.
