Alicia Silverstone’s Clueless sequel series is no longer in development.
The show was first announced in April 2025 and was set to star and be executive-produced by Alicia Silverstone.
Now a year later, multiple outlets including Variety and Deadline revealed that the streaming platform, Peacock has scrapped it.
The series would have seen Silverstone reprise her role as Cher Horowitz more than 30 years after the beloved film debuted in 1995.
Previously, Silverstone offered an update on the series during an appearance on Today. When asked what she could share about it, she teased, "Not much," before adding, "I’m really excited about it.”
“I think we’re going to try really hard. The goal is to make it honour what everyone loves about Clueless and Cher,” she added. "So we want to honour that, but also bring something fresh and new to it. I’m confident that we’ll be able to do that, but we’re in baby stages right now."
The original Clueless movie hit theatres in 1995 and was loosely inspired by Jane Austen’s novel Emma.
In addition to Silverstone and Dash, the cast included Paul Rudd, Donald Faison, Brittany Murphy and Dan Hedaya.
