Lily Collins drops surprise secrets about 'Emily in Paris'

Lily Collins has lifted the lid on the true heart of Emily in Paris and it’s not just about fashion, flings and fabulous backdrops.

The 37-year-old star, who plays ambitious expat Emily Cooper, says the hit Netflix romcom is actually a “love letter to exploring yourself”, with a lot more depth than fans might expect.

Opening up about the show’s deeper meaning, Lily revealed it’s as much about personal growth as it is about romance. 

She explained that Emily’s journey isn’t just tied to the City of Light, but also to friendships, career challenges and discovering who she really is.

Lily, daughter of music legend Phil Collins, said the series celebrates female camaraderie and self-discovery, calling it a “romance with the city, a romance with oneself”.

And there’s plenty more drama on the way.

Netflix has officially confirmed the show will return for a sixth season and it’s going bigger than ever, with glamorous new stops in Greece and Monaco set to shake things up.

Season five, meanwhile, ends on a whirlwind trip to Venice, where heartbreak and high fashion collide. 

Emily turns down a quiet life with Marcello after his career triumph, choosing instead to chase her dreams in Paris, leaving their romance hanging by a thread.

Elsewhere, Mindy says yes to a proposal from Nicolas, despite Alfie’s blunt warning it’s a “big mistake”, while Emily’s ex Gabriel stirs the pot once more with a tempting invite aboard a luxury yacht in Greece.
