Mark Zuckerberg has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) liken of himself to provide conversation and feedback to the employees of Meta.

According to the Financial Times reports, the Meta CEO is said to be working on an AI agent to assist him in his workload.

This comes as the company spend billions on data centers and research talent to win the artificial intelligence arms race.

Zuckerberg is not the first tech chief to clone himself. In the Diary of a CEO podcast, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi recently revealed that some of his employees made what they called Dara AI to rehearse their presentations and then pitch to him.

The practice has however been criticized. Deepfake consultant Henry Ajder (advisor to the UK Home Office) told the FT that an AI CEO might seem rather uncomfortable to its employees and seem like an unnatural engagement.

"I would be concerned about what impact that would have on company culture," Ajder noted.

"How is Zuckerberg thinking about how his reputation and his image is controlled by an avatar?" he probed with concern.

Alexandru Voica, the head of corporate affairs at AI video start-up Synthesia, added, "This idea of replacing yourself with AI just because you can, doesn't mean you should."

No details of the date the avatar was launched or its special features have been disclosed.

It is pertinent to mention that neither Meta nor Zuckerberg have made a statement regarding the report.
