Pete Davidson has sparked fresh online debate after making unexpected remarks about fatherhood during a recent stand-up set in Las Vegas, leaving fans split over his intent.
The comedian reportedly spoke about how becoming a “girl dad” has shifted his mindset, joking it’s now “harder” to watch X-rated videos, which fueled a wave of reactions.
During the same performance, the Saturday Night Live alum also openly discussed his struggles with substance abuse and rehab.
"I went to rehab this time. I was like, ‘I’m gonna I’m gonna actually do it so I could save some of this money I’m making and stop blowing it on rehab," he said.
The comments quickly created online buzz, with internet users torn over whether the fatherhood joke was inappropriate or misunderstood.
"Hey, so that’s a really weird thing to say," as one penned online.
"Hey, it’s actually not, and you’re just a weird dumbfu*k for thinking that. It’s a joke about developing empathy for women after having a daughter, creep," commented another one.
Meanwhile, a frustrated user on X reacted, “Why would you associate porn with your daughter? Those are two different things,”
However, another individual on the platform wrote, “Pete needs to pack up the comedy stuff for now and just focus on his kid, who can’t even stand as yet, work on new material, and stfu, and this is me giving him the tough love treatment.”
It is pertinent to mention, in December 2025, Pete Davidson stepped into fatherhood after he and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt welcomed their daughter, Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson.
