Recalling a conversation with his mother, Amy Davidson, the SNL star revealed his initial reaction wasn’t serious.

“I remember my mom popped on the screen, and she was like, ‘Peter, it’s really hard to be your mom. It’s not a fun job.’ I was still, like, newly sober, [thinking], ‘Well, you’re not f–king that special. What do you do?’” he said.

However, things quickly shifted when she opened up further.

He added, "She went, ‘Enough.’ She f***ed me up. She was, like, ‘Peter, ‘It’s very hard to be your mom because I wake up every morning with the fear that I’ll turn on the news and see that my son has died.’"

Moreover, he pointed out, "She told me all this on Zoom — from the house that I bought her on drugs. I was like, ‘Someone’s getting used to things.’ That got me sober."

On the workfront, Pete Davidson will portray a notorious mafia killer in an upcoming crime thriller, Tommy Karate

The project is expected to start filming soon, with a tentative 2027 release.
