Fans of The Pitt have been left reeling after a major cast shake-up but star Noah Wyle insists it’s all part of the plan.

The 54-year-old telly favourite, best known for his days on ER, has admitted it’s an “inevitability” that actors will come and go on the hit hospital drama, after the shock news that Supriya Ganesh will not return for series three.

Supriya, 28, has played the much-loved Dr Mohan since day one, becoming a firm fan favourite.

But speaking at PaleyFest, Noah revealed the revolving door of staff is actually what keeps the show feeling real.

He explained that writers are constantly battling to balance storytelling with authenticity, saying the fast-paced world of emergency medicine naturally leads to change.

“It’s an inevitability… every season,” he admitted, adding that the team tries to keep things fresh by introducing new faces or promoting existing characters.

Still, it’s not goodbye without emotion as Noah was quick to praise his departing co-star, calling her a “huge part” of the show.

“I love working with Supriya… we’re going to miss her,” he said warmly.

Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill echoed the sentiment, stressing that the decision reflects real-life medical careers.

“You come in, you learn, you move on,” he said, describing the show as a “launching pad” for rising stars.

Supriya’s character is currently navigating big career decisions on screen, a storyline that now feels closer to reality than ever.

The actress herself has yet to break her silence, leaving fans anxiously waiting for her next move.
