Alec Baldwin has revealed he’s ready to quit the spotlight for good.
The 68-year-old star admitted that he just wants to “retire and stay home” with his family following the devastating Rust shooting tragedy.
For those unfamiliar, the Hollywood veteran was at the centre of the 2021 incident that claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza on set in New Mexico.
Though manslaughter charges against Baldwin were ultimately dismissed, the emotional and physical toll has clearly lingered.
Speaking candidly on a podcast, the 30 Rock favourite admitted the ordeal changed everything.
After spending years largely out of work, he grew used to life at home with wife Hilaria Baldwin and their seven young children.
Now, he says, the thought of returning to the grind no longer appeals.
“I don’t want to leave my house anymore. I don’t want to work,” he confessed, adding that he would rather focus on family life than chase another role.
Behind the scenes, the aftermath has been anything but easy.
The Beetlejuice actor opened up about severe health struggles, including a nerve condition that caused him to black out multiple times.
Despite being unwell, he was forced to return to filming Rust in Montana to fulfil legal obligations tied to a settlement with Hutchins’ husband.
The Boss Baby star admitted he was “really sick” during the shoot and unable to give his best performance, but pushed through regardless.
The ordeal has impacted every corner of his life, from his career to his finances and health, leaving the star longing for a quieter future far from Hollywood’s glare.
