Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip celebrate 73 years of marriage

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on Thursday.

The royal couple released an official photograph from Buckingham Palace, in which the Queen and Philip can be seen opening a lovely homemade card given by their great-grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on the occasion.

The little royals’ creative and hand-made anniversary card for the Queen and Prince is the sweetest manner to wish them love on their special day. In the picture, they are surrounded by other cards and letters from well-wishers in Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth and Royal Navy Lt. Philip Mountbatten at Westminster Abbey on November 20, 1947. She has been the queen since 1952 and ruled longer than any other British monarch.

At the time of their wedding, the queen was 21, and prince Philip was 26-years-old. Her marriage to Prince Philip is also the longest for any British sovereign.
