James Marsden reflects on signing ‘Doomsday’ script blindsided

James Marsden opened up about taking Avengers: Doomsday role as Cyclops without reading the script.

Marsden is known for playing Cyclops in the X-Men movies. He is all set to mark his comeback in the much-awaited film.

According to Comic Book Resources, Marsden said, “We talked about what my involvement would be and everything, but I hadn’t actually read the script yet.”

Being offered a part in an Avengers movie was like an absolute yes for the actor, as seemingly, he felt nostalgic about his role.

Previously, an appearance on latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, while talking about his role in the film, Marsden said, “To put this on felt very cool … felt very proud.”

For those unversed, James first played Scott Summers (Cyclops) in 2000’s X-Men and reprised his role in 2003’s X2 and 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.

Avengers: Doomsday ensemble cast draws from across the Marvel universe, like Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Thunderbolts.

The film will be released on December 18.
