Justin Baldoni finally breaks silence after court dismisses Blake Lively’s sexual harassment claims amid It Ends With Us legal battle.

A federal judge in the Southern District of New York, Lewis J. Liman, has ruled out 10 out of the 13 claims in Blake’s lawsuit, but proceeds with the remaining claims for retaliation, aiding and abetting retaliation as well as breach of contract.

In a statement shared to PEOPLE and Daily Mail, Justin’s attorneys, Alexandra Shapiro and Jonathan Bach, share reaction to their legal victory.

'We're very pleased the Court dismissed all sexual harassment claims and every claim brought against the individual defendants: Justin, Jamey Heath, Steve Sarowitz, Melissa Nathan, and Jennifer Abel,” it said.

The lawyers pointed out in the statement, “These were very serious allegations, and we are grateful to the Court for its careful review of the facts, law and voluminous evidence that was provided.”

They added, “What remains of Blake’s lawsuit is a significantly narrowed case, and we look forward to presenting our defense to the remaining claims in court.”

For those unversed, the dismissed claims included those related to harassment, defamation and conspiracy, however, Blake’s breach of contract claim and a FEHA retaliation claim against Justini’s company Wayfarer Studios would still move forward to trial.

After judge’s new ruling, the actress’ lawyers also responded that Blake’s sexual harassment claim against It Ends With Us director “isn’t going forward not because the defendants did nothing wrong but because the court determined Blake was an independent contractor, not an employee”.

Meanwhile, the trial is still scheduled to proceed on May 18 in New York City despite Blake’s case has weakened due to new ruling.
