Cillian Murphy is reflecting on the musicians, singers and bands that have contributed to Peaky Blinders, including one band that felt like it immediately fit the vibe.
The Oppenheimer star was joined by his Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man co-star Rebecca Ferguson when he recalled the artists.
In a chat with BAFTA, the 49-year-old stated, “You know we’ve had Radiohead, we’ve had David Bowie, we’ve had Leonard Cohen, we’ve had PJ Harvey…” to which the Dune actress seemed surprised.
Cillian then sarcastically recommended Rebecca to watch the series, and then the Academy Award winner continued that now they had Grian Chatten writing original music for them as well as the rock band Fontaines D.C.
The Small Things like These actor called them “so instantly peaky,” adding that he felt “so immensely proud of these artists” who have watched the show and contributed to it.
Cillian also praised the artists further, calling them iconic and generational while Rebecca noted that they were cool.
The Irish actor himself has musical roots, and was in a band called Sons of Mr Green Genes named after a Frank Zappa song. The band’s sound was a mix of rock, hip-hop and funk.
