Oscars 2026: 'One Battle' and Sinners' to dominate the race

The most enormous Hollywood party is in sight, the 98th Academy Awards will be brought down to the Dolby Theatre at 7 p.m. ET.

The Sunday, March 15 Academy Awards will be hosted by Conan O'Brien once again.

The awards are presented to the most outstanding films of 2025, hosted live on ABC and Hulu.

Notably, the list of the nominations of this year is impressive. 

Leading the charge? 

Paul Thomas Anderson of One Battle After Another and Ryan Coogler of Sinners both bludgeon their way into several categories including the Best Picture. 

They will compete with Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, and the first Brazilian movie ever to be nominated as the Best Picture; The Secret Agent. 

The Male Leading Actor is Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme) clashing against Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another). 

There are other faces in the cast: Ethan Hawke, Michael B. Jordan, and Golden Globe winner Wagner Moura.

In the category of Best Actress, Emma Stone (Bugonia) fights Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne, Kate Hudson, and Renate Reinsve. 

Nominations of Actor Supporting nods were made to Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, Delroy Lindo, and Stellan Skarsgård. 

Among them Elle Fanning and Teyana Taylor are the first time nominees for Sentimental Value and One Battle After Another respectively.

Chloe Zhao, Josh Safdie, Joachim Trier, Paul Thomas Anderson and Ryan Coogler, are the notable directors in the fray. 

Presenters:

Nicole Kidman, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Hathaway and Pedro Pascal will present the gold and Josh Groban performs.

Afterparty:

The night goes on at Vanity Fair Oscar Party, at the David Geffen Galleries of LACMA. Dress code of the A-listers will be Hollywood royalty.
