Zac Efron makes honest confession about major career change

Zac Efron has opened up about a major shift in his life.

The 38-year-old heartthrob revealed that after years of chasing success in Hollywood, he is finally putting his own happiness and wellbeing at the top of the list.

He admitted that he spent much of his career focused solely on work, leaving little room for a personal life. 

Now, however, the Iron Claw star says his priorities have changed dramatically.

Speaking about his outlook, Zac confessed that he neglected his personal life for years while concentrating on his career. 

These days, he is determined to find balance and make sure he is happy both professionally and personally.

The High School Musical actor also reflected on the intense physical demands of some of his biggest roles, particularly the ultra-toned look he achieved for Baywatch. 

While fans were stunned by his chiselled physique, Zac revealed the reality behind the scenes was far less glamorous.

He explained that maintaining that level of fitness was not sustainable and came at a cost to his mental wellbeing. 

As a result, he has vowed never to sacrifice his mental health in pursuit of a movie role again.

Away from the spotlight, The Lucky One star is investing in a different kind of dream. 

He is currently building an eco-friendly home in the Australian countryside near Byron Bay after purchasing a huge plot of land in 2020.

He says the property offers the perfect escape from the pressures of fame.
